“First movement”, soft local launch

We demo Fairplayer to a larger audience of musicians and activists at an encounter labelled “First Movement” at Fabra i Coats in Barcelona, where we want to motivate people into a cooperative approach to building a new future for local artists outside of the main streaming platforms

The team grows

We go from the initial two contributors to a larger team of engineers, musicians and activists, connected to other collectives via https://lainstrumental.org

Oct 2025

We have a name (Fairplayer) and domain

Influenced by Faircamp, we decide to go for the name Fairplayer (because, surprisingly, the domain fairplayer.org is available). We start shipping early versions to https://fairplayer.band.

Sep 2025

Player coding starts

We define the main building blocks (player, hub and catalogs) and start prototyping. We look into Faircamp as a good option for a catalog.
